23rd & 24th June 2007

I write this on my return from a family holiday in the scottish highlands. For the past 7 days we have enjoyed views and a calmness that takes my mind back to our fantastic weekend stay in villa angela. Whilst the scenery was equally as stunning, the scottish weather fell a little short of the sun and heat of Taormina.

Our few days of heaven at the villa are to be relived next June, when we will be joined by our friends, who so inspired of our tales of sun, views, fine wine and fantastic hosts , will get the chance for themselves to see what all the fuss is about.

A big thank you to all the team who helped make our stay a truly memorable one. To Paul for the champagne and the guided hotel tour, To Jim, for 30 or so minutes of your time that passed in seconds, from chatting about the Skids and bus journeys home from Dunfermline to that really tall tree in front of the hotel !!

Away from the hotel we sampled as much as we could in our couple of days with the Teatro Greco well worth a visit as is La Botte resteraunt (Jim, Antonio looked after us on the wine front !). Did not manage to get down to the bay or up too the spectacular looking castlemona, but will make sure we take them in on our next visit.

Hope to see you all again next June, when my mate Mark will hopefully have the chance of chat with Jim, because even the big simple minds fan that he is, he will surely tire of my retelling of our weekend every time I sip a glass of wine, taste pasta or hear a familiar tune on the radio !!!
