Just returned from a week at the Villa Angela and we were pleased we had chosen this hotel.
Although on the outskirts of the town, its position is superb and quiet, with panoramic views of Etna smoking in the distance, and the valley and sea below.
The hotel is modern build, well maintained, with a homely feel.
The room was decorated in traditional style with dark wood furniture, wrought iron features and tiled floor, a large panoramic terrace with sun loungers. It was kept very clean.
There is a small pool area with beds also well kept.
Another plus of the hotel is the regular shuttle down to the town, which you need to book.
This costs 20 euros per person per week but is well worth it and very reliable.
There is also a public bus service stop outside the hotel for visits further afield.
The staff on reception are charming and very helpful.
The only minus was that we had to prompt the breakfast staff to replenish the buffet table as items were not replaced as they ran out.,but do not let this put you off,it is a minor detail and judging by the number of repeat guests this is a justifiably popular hotel.
