Many thanks from Austin and Bronagh
To all the management and staff at Hotel Villa Angela,
I would like to thank you all for making our honeymoon very special. We had
a perfect stay in VA and although the remainder of our honeymoon in Sicily
had a few negative points, I'm glad to say that because of the time we had
at your hotel we will definitely be back in Taormina at the Hotel Villa
Having completed the first week of our honeymoon with you we attempted to go
to Stomboli for three nights but on arrival in Milazzo we were informed that
there would be no ferries running to Stromboli (disaster!), this is when we
contacted VA again and your reception staff bent over backwards to
accommodate us and somehow put us up for a further 2 nights in the Etna
suite (which I might add was absolutely beautiful!). We were astounded by
the level of professionalism and friendliness of your staff!
There were a few members of staff that I would like to thank personally.
Gracie (hopefully spelled correctly!) was always smiling and was a whizz
behind the bar. Mario was unbelievably friendly and also recommended a few
great restaurants , all of which I might add were fantastic. Thanks Mario!!!
But especially I would like to say a special thanks to Piero. He went out of
his way to help us out with anything and even helped us locate a stopover
hotel for a night after we had come to the end of our stay in VA. He went
even further than this and offered to meet up with us and show us the sites
of Acitrezza which we took him up on. We met his wife and daughter also and
they are a lovely and friendly family. Thank you very much Piero, you are a
We didn't get to meet Jim Kerr on our trip but did meet his brother Paul,
who was very friendly indeed. and he was right in one way when he said to us
"Why are you going to stay in Catania?" (We got our rental car broken into
and the locks broken off!) but wrong in another way because we had a very
nice time in Catania also. (Although Taormina wins hands down ever time!)
I'm not normally the sort of person who writes these kind of emails but I
felt compelled to do so by the sheer warmth shown to us by all at the Hotel
Villa Angela, and I don't know if he will, but I hope that Jim Kerr gets to
read this and (as I'm sure he does) appreciates what a great team of people
he has working for him.
We will definitely see you all in the not too distant future.
Many thanks again
