FROM TONY AN BRIDEEN
Just spent a magic week at the Villa Angela in Taormina, returned on the 17th October 2004.Set in the cliffs above Taormina, this hotel enjoys truly spectacular views. Staying in the Villa Angela is akin to staying as a very special guest in a friend's private villa. The culture of the hotel is all about satisfying the individual requirements of each guest so that the guest can savor the atmosphere, tranquility and beauty of the surroundings. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, you immediatly sense that they are proud of the facilities offered by the hotel and that nothing will be too much trouble to ensure that you enjoy your stay.A typical day might begin with breakfast, served by the effervescent Sabrina and Martina on the terrace, with each table carefully arranged so as to maximise the panoramic view of Mt. Etna. Over a frothy cappuccino the day could be planned, be it a walk via steps (takes about 10 minutes)to the charming Taormina or one of the various excursions. In truth many days were spent relaxing by the beautiful pool, sipping a cool drink and soaking in the atmosphere of this remarkable hotel. The free shuttle service from the hotel to Taormina proved particularly useful when dining out in the many lovely restaurants at night.
